Overview

Mount Pumori Expedition. The Mt. Pumori Base Camp can be reached by Kathmandu – Lukla flight and trekking via Namche Bazar, Thangboche – Pheriche, and Lobuche. Mt. Pumori is 7145 m high and the ascent starts at 5300m; which is beside a beautiful small lake. From here you can get a beautiful sight of Mt. Everest, & Kalapatthar at 5545 m. This is the easier route to climb this peak and most of the expedition climbers climbed this peak so far have used this route. Amadablam Expedition

As you know Pumori is not easy as the other mountain, there are difficult technical parts in this route while climbing to Pumori, you should take climbing Sherpa and who will guide you to reach the summit. You need to have at least 3 camps after base camps to reach the summit. The base camp is just above Gorakhshep at an altitude of 5300 m. After base camp, you can set up at the altitude of 5300 m. Set up your camp at the altitude of 5650 m around the phase of Mt. Pumori. The most technical part of this peak is around camps 1 & 2. You should send camp 3 at the altitude of 6480 around the corner after the ridge. You can ascend the summit from camp 3 to the top of Pumori. Mount Makalu Expedition

Most of the climbers use this route for the expedition to Mt. Pumori every year. Some few climbers use the southwest ridge of Pumori which is very difficult to follow directly from the top of Kalapatthar and goes straight over the ridge nearly by 75 degrees. Because of the difficulties on the way ascending, you should go to the normal route of Pumori. Kanchenjunga Expedition
